Dear Colleague,
The AACoP Board has been engaged in a number of mission driven initiatives across this past year on behalf of membership. One of these initiatives has been to update the website to allow the Academy to offer a range of member benefits – some of which are available now – including the option to pay your dues on-line. Other benefits will be available soon that will keep you informed of critical issues, opportunities for participation in governance, and continuing education programs.

In order to maintain your status as a member of the American Academy of Counseling Psychology in good standing, please submit your 2018 dues via one of the mechanisms listed below.

** If you became board certified in Counseling Psychology in 2017, your dues are covered by the Academy for 2018; you will begin paying dues in 2019. If you believe that you meet criteria for Emeritus status (see below) as of 2017 – please follow instructions below. To qualify for Emeritus Status or serve on the AACOP board you must be a member in good standing, which requires that you have paid your dues annually since joining the Academy. Membership in the Academy is voluntary. Your annual ABPP attestation/dues payment is separate from Academy membership. Your AACOP annual dues ARE NOT included in your annual ABPP dues.

What to pay…

  1.  2018 dues: $45
  2. Or…Obtain/verify that you met Emeritus status in 2017 and pay no dues. (Donations are always welcome!). Emeritus status is granted to Academy Fellows who are retired, and have paid their Academy dues (AACOP) for 10 consecutive years. (To request Emeritus status, contact the Academy treasurer, Dr. Laura Palmer at office@drlaurapalmer.org). If you believe that you meet the Emeritus criteria as of 2017, you will have had to have been a member in good standing from 2008 – 2017. If you believe you will meet Emeritus status in AACOP in 2018, you must have paid your dues in 2017.

How to pay

  1. Pay by Check: Pay the 2018 dues ($45), noting the following in the memo section on your check: AACOP dues 2018. Send in the form below with your chec The address is on the form.
  2. Chase Zellepay: You can use our new Chase Zellepay option (even if you are not a Chase customer) to set up separate paym This is a free service to our members as well as the Academy! See steps below.
